Welcome to the Bedford Adult and Senior Connections website. These pages are designed to connect residents and visitors to information about activities for adults and seniors sponsored by the town of Bedford NH, groups and organizations within the town, and resources available from many other wonderful organizations in the state.
News and Upcoming Events!
- The Parks & Recreation Department has some new offerings for the spring and summer. See our web page, Adult Recreation Programs, or call Jane at 472-5242 for details.
- The next Summer Concert at the pool complex stage will be on July 15 at 1:00 pm, with the Amoskeag Strummers!
- Walk with the walking group! See our page, Walking Group Schedule, for the list of upcoming walks.
- Tennis lessons for adults are being sponsored by the Parks & Recreation Department this summer. If you've ever wanted to play but need a little instruction, now is the time!
- The Parks & Recreation Department has additional programs for adults, including music lessons, softball pick-up games, ballroom dancing, Zumba fitness classes, and table tennis! There's lots to do in town!
- The Bedford Seniors group holds meetings on the second Tuesday of the month at the Bedford Presbyterian Church, and takes frequent bus trips all year long. Check the Bedford Senior Citizens page or the Calendar of Events, or call Charlotte at 668-1422.
- The Bedford Public Library has afternoon and evening programs of interest to adults, including a new Fiber Arts Group that meets on the fourth Tuesday and fourth Wednesday of each month! If you like to knit, crochet, spin, felt, hook rugs, do needlecraft or other fiber work, share your crafting with others. - The Granite State Senior Games are coming again! This is a great chance to show off your skills and keep yourself fit and healthy. Click here for more information.

- Lifestyle Programs links you to pertinent lifestyle, medical and social events, programs, and publications at Catholic Medical Center and Elliot Hospital.
- The William B. Cashin Senior Activity Center in Manchester has many fun activities and classes for seniors, as well as meal programs and trips.
- The Parish Nurse Program offers free or reduced cost health care and screenings at both the Bedford Presbyterian Church and St. Elizabeth Seton Parish.
- And The Arbors of Bedford offers free health screenings on Mondays, all year long. Click on their links for details.

- The Animal Rescue League is currently housing more cats than it has room for. Cats are being abandoned when their owners lose their jobs, homes or apartments. Please help the Animal Rescue League to care for these deserving animals. You can help in any of the following ways:
- Donate to the Animal Rescue League. On average, each animal costs the League about $500 in food, shelter, and medical care. To help the shelter cover some of those costs, the League accepts donations at www.rescueleague.org, or checks can be sent to the Animal Rescue League of NH, 545 Route 101, Bedford, NH 03110.
- Volunteer to help the Animal Rescue League in caring for homeless animals.
- Adopt a pet!
- The Bedford Town Council has approved more generous Tax Exemptions and Credits for Senior and Disabled Citizens in our town. Please click on the Tax Exemption Information link under Quick Connections for more information.
